It was touching and powerful. There’s so much you could say about this movie and the depth of the pain and struggles it shows. It shines light on how difficult it is as a parent to show “hard” love through making choices that they know will make their child stronger and better in the long run. It also shows the struggles through a child’s eye with everything working against them and being so lost to not really understand what the best choices for them could be. How easily we go to what “feels” right and comfortable. It was beautiful yet heartbreaking throughout the movie. I look forward to learning more about Fletcher Street Stables and their riders. I lived very close to Philly for a few years and had never heard of it or a glimpse of the Black Cowboys’ lives in Philly. The actors and actresses (some of which are really riders from the stables) were well chosen and did such a great job. I have to admit I cried through most of the movie - there were so many heart wrenching moments that made you feel the actors/actresses pain but with so much beauty.
Thanks for a beautiful movie.
