This film changed the very life of a 10 year old boy back in 1951. It took me three times to see it all the way through. For me, it was more powerful than anything I's ever seen and Bernard Herrmann's score was more and different to anything I'd ever heard. To this day, it stands in my memory as one of the most significant moments in all my life. That Michael Rennie had to die just seems so unfair. He was the perfect kind and wise man from the stars.
