As fan of pervious Nolan films I had big hopes for this, boy was I disappointed.
I'm not going to an over board, but will point out some detractors.
The dialogue was barely audible for a fair portion of the film. Yeah, I know Nolan says he wanted to create a solid soundscape, but you don't do it at the expense of the dialogue. To be brutally honest, the sound on this film was OTT.
The plot is of course based around reverse entropy, great idea, poorly executed,. Yes I understood it fine, it just didn't seem to hold this movie together.
Character development, forget it, it doesn't exist. By the end I couldn't have cared less about any of the characters.
I watched it again in hope that I may have been in a bit of a bored mood the first time round, in fact, it was the movie that bored me rigid.
Pro's, some great cinematography, unfortunately it's not even enough for me to go be it even 3 stars.
I fear Nolan is disappearing up his own backside. The film, in my view, is a pretentious mess.
C'mon Chris, you're better than this.
