Compared with the book this is appalling. I had enjoyed the compelling novel with its strong characters. But this adaptation was so disappointing it angered me and I had to stop watching it. Strange and frankly unnecessary things have been changed like the detectives son being dead, the characters have no depth whatsoever. Holly, a character I’ve read about in three previous king stories was the nail in the coffin that made me turn it off. Very disappointing
