The BIPOC characters are all stereotypical, and character development is very poor. None of them have a personality except for their weird quirks and shared disdain for white people - which they express a lot. The white characters are written to be frivolous or racist. There is no nuance whatsoever in the coverage race relations, which was disappointing.
The book doesn't have much of a plot, and more often than not scenes are of Grace and her friends complaining about life. They come off as over-privileged kids, and it's hard to emphasize with them.
The development of the relationship between Grace and Yuki is very slim, and honestly feels like a side plot in the novel. The problem Grace has with figuring out her life and finding employment is a much larger part of the book.
The book seemed promising at first, but I got close to the end and then quit. I got tired of the angry, no-action characters.
