The concept is brilliant. The idea of vampires as a metaphor for gentrification, blood-sucking monsters destroying much-loved neighbourhoods but displacing its inhabitants. But the movie itself felt tonally all over the place. The script lacked a subtlety with every scene a reflection on 'gentrification' which came off trite & the chemistry between the three main kids lacking any real substantial character development. You hoped that the film would commit to a tone - whether that is to be hyper-serialized & cultish or a better script written with more subtlety. It just didn't feel like all those things meshed very well, the colour grading seemed odd, the script felt lacking and the chemistry between characters felt non-existent.
