My initial reaction after the first listen, I was really trying to be positive about it. But I couldn’t help but let out an audible “Damn...” While certainly a disappointment in many aspects, it’s high points are pretty high, if not par for the course. What’s ultimately disappointing is not only is the first half the best part of the record, but that if you listen to just the singles, you will have had essentially the same experience as the entire album. However, as mentioned, it’s not without its great moments. But overall it is an inconsistent, seemingly experimental record that I can only hope they try to clean up if attempted once more in the future.
