All in all I consider the final Matrix a success. Even though not so much newness due to the continuity factor, the story nonetheless delivers. And the possibility that there's a new solution to the Matrix, that there's no need be destroy the Matrix, that you can actually live in it as long as you know it's still only a dream. The action delivers too, no complaints there. Solid movie for a remake and I like that they put emphasis on how difficult it can be to free yourself from the Matrix, particularly because of our own nature. How we want comfort, security and certainty.
