I never played Banjo Kazooie when it came out on N64 back in the day so I was excited to play it on the Switch. I think it deserves a lot of the praise it gets, but for me there were a few things weighing it down. I know it's probably a product of the N64 era, but the camera can be really frustrating, and the controls were a little wonky for me at first but I got used to them. The water levels were cool but the swim controls are horrendous. Also I didn't like how the music notes reset evey time you die. I can see that being an added challenge but for me it was just annoying. The hub world was cool but confusing at times. Despite the flaws I did have a good time playing it and there were many memorable moments and inventive levels. Mad Monster Mansion is amazing and I also loved Click Clock Wood. Rusty Bucket Bay was actual a great level too. There were many frustrating points too...The engine room and the deep dive in Clanker's Cavern come to mind. Also those stupid snowmen in Freezeezy Peak! All that being said I can easily recommend Banjo Kazooie for fans of 3d platformers!
