The Native American is an absolute disgrace! He is an elder and he approached a 16 year old. He is the one who should apologize! The chaperones from the school made some big mistakes also. I am truly glad that the student didn't do anything to escalate the situation but at the same time didn't back down. Savannah, I have high regards for you, but in this case you let the Native American off the hook. You didn't ask obvious questions. Example might be: What were you attempting to do? Did you really think getting into the student's personal space would have a positive outcome? Do you think expectations should be significantly higher for you because of your age and experience than a student? What skills do you have that make you able to dismiss the student after 30 seconds? Talk about closed minded, Mr. Phillips, you should be ashamed! Only decorum prevents me from being far more direct!
