My family used to watch anything new on TV, so that we could decide for ourselves whether a show was good or not. With that in mind, we sat down to watch "Turn-On", since we enjoyed "Laugh-In" -- how could we lose?
Well, we did lose, and lose big. In fact, I walked away from the set after a clip depicting a pregnant woman in a rocking chair singing "I've Got Rhythm." The material was so bad that I couldn't force myself to chuckle, much less laugh.
But that's not the worst show I've ever seen. The BBC aired a show called "Heil Honey, I'm Home!" about Hitler and Eva Braun as a bumbling couple as they lived next to the Goldbergs, an obviously Jewish couple. The first (and only) episode was about a pending visit from Neville Chamberlain (look it up if you must), and how Adolf and Eva were going to keep the Goldbergs from showing up during the visit. It also was canceled after one episode.
But although it was stupid, there were a few "moments" that were slightly amusing. Not so with "Turn-On".
