I just watched it at the movies tonight with some friends. With my review I’m gonna be very honest, and I’ll keep it as short as possible. Being a huge fan of the alien franchise, I was thoroughly disappointed. The plot of the movie wasn’t thought out enough. During the later half, the plot changed. Bjorn’s death was very ridiculous. If you see fluid dripping from a cocoon and its melting the platform away, instead of standing there staring at it, common sense would tell you to maneuver away from it. That’s one of the dumbest deaths I have ever seen in a movie. The girl that was pregnant had simple instructions to go into the cryostasis pod and escape with the samples. What does she do? She uses the vial on herself, for what reason? Rain said not to use it on her to begin with because of what may happen to her. She was conscious enough to know not to do it and she did it anyways. That didn’t make sense to me. Then, Bjorn and Navarro try to escape without the rest of the crew after freezing the crawler off of Navarro. Andy told the crew that she needed to be killed and look what happened, she still ended up dying by the seed planted inside her even after the crawler was removed. The overall deaths in this movie was a big disappointment for me. The expected the end of the movie to end differently, but what I at least would happen didn’t. Whoever the director was definitely didn’t deliver. I think this version of the franchise must lean more towards those under 18, cause it definitely isn’t for 18 and over, at all. It leaves the door open that there may be a part 2 and honestly, I hope there isn’t. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy watching this at the theater cause you’ll be upset too.
