Great movie but not the twist I was expecting. The cover poster made me think it was Mark Wahlberg character that is a con man and was going to go to great lengths to get his money. So I painted this picture before going into the movie and everything at the start seemed to go that direction. However, that's DEFINITELY not what happens at all.
I enjoyed the insider approach of the logistics of the Catholic church. It seemed more humanized then what was expected of a religious organization.
After the first 30 minutes, everything sort of shifted directions to a more serious and religious approach which is what surprised me but not in an engaging way.
After Marks character Stu was medical diagnosed, I again started to paint a picture in my head of the reason why the movie was made about Stu. I felt it started to make even more sense after the church scene as of how much Stu fought. However, what's in my head fooled me again.
The acting was AMAZING and I definitely see Mark getting nominated and Mr. Mel Gibson as a support actor.
The movie is still enjoyable and plays with all of the emotions that you love about a movie.
