This game is great if you have most if not all the DLC packs that is. Do not get this game if you are not willing to spend £653.06 = $810.02 to get the DLC packs as the base game hasn't got a leg to stand on.
Most of these packs include content that should have already been included in the game that is a simulation of life. For example, weather and seasons, a big part of the real world, however, costs you an additional £34.99 to get in this simulation.
This game includes hardly any content without the DLC anything from clothing options to furniture. even if you buy most, even all these packs in a sale at a 50% reduction you are still paying £300+.
After doing some research into the costs of DLC (all together) when I play the game I forget its worth £600+ since most of the content in these packs is mediocre, some of them not being able to justify the price point. Some of the best packs included, however, seem as though it should have been base game, seasons, of course, is the first that comes to mind, but the get to work pack, a pack included 2 of the most well-known careers (IRL) costs £34.99.
A long story short is that the base game is no more than 2 stars it has hardly any replayability since it's so boring and there is no substance or any objective to work towards. however the game with packs (despite the costs) is a pretty good game and is debatably a 5-star game, that is if this game is for you. it best fits someone who likes a game at their own pace with comedic features and (with packs) a lot of depth into the sims worlds which can be made your own.
And the reason I'm giving this game 2-stars is that its an ok base game and a great game with packs but no game should ever be worth £600+ and not be the absolute best thing I've ever seen, there is so much more you can do with that money, for example, buy 12 great £50 games which would suggest they are new and made by a good development company. EA has been known to exploit gamers' wants for DLC and have previously had scandals with microtransactions.
The sims 4 is a game that has to be built one DLC at a time and for that reason, it is not a good game, a good game shouldn't have to depend on DLC the DLC should be added benefit but this is not a simulation game without way more then half the packs they sell.
