The good news is there was absolutely nothing bad about this movie. The bad new is there was absolutely nothing good about this movie (okay I lie, I did think some of the visual effects and fight scenes were cool) but over all it was a very paint by the numbers kind of film. You can see most of the plot laid out before it’s supposed big “on screen reveal” so there is no real chance to engage with the story. But if you’re someone who doesn’t mind plot holes or doesn’t care at all about being pulled into a story and just want action and cool effects or if you haven’t seen a lot of movies before so something like this will still feel fresh to you… you will probably love this movie.

I loved this movie. It actually is in the running for my favorite of the year in fact. The action sequences are beautifully choreographed and there are a lot of deep themes that they dive into in the story. I didn’t find it as confusing as some people did and the level of character development and conflicts worked for me. I loved the casting and the chemistry between them. Even the characters I initially didn’t care for like Druig really grew on me and by the end I appreciated their diverse points of view. I do think you have to be willing to accept that the characters are who they say they are off face value as opposed to their actions revealing who they are. There are just so many of them you don’t get to know them before critical things start happening. So you just have to be willing to accept that the characters motivations are genuine and natural. Overall it was really, really good in my opinion and I can’t wait for the next installment.
