Long over due, this true story of humor and courage in the trenches of WW 1 is, among other things, an anti war movie that is funny and very sad.
Nobility, wit, bravery portrayed dramatically but not too graphically. The horrors of that extremely stupid, cruel war are evident, making the humor even more admirable.
The Wipers Times should be promoted by the current MSM,which may be incapable of appreciating the inspiring qualities of that generation of British soldier, enlisted and officer.
