The View ??? Whoopie got suspended for two weeks because her view and misguided belief was too offensive. She explained her "view" then listened to others and by evening said " I have never thought about it that way" and apologized whole heartedly. I'm a 74 yrs old. man who grew up white and very pour in a family of six children.Even though I grew up in a nyc slum and had all ethnicities as friends and family I did NOT understand white privilege until the BLM had language that cleared it up. Many, many of my white friends have said the same thing. WE were not born of white privileg ! We were poor and worked hard as anyone else to get anything. Yes I would hail a cab for a black friend to get into because the cabs wouldn't stop for a black person but I didn't understand that as privileged. I thought of it as mans inhumanity to man. Should we punish those who continue to learn and grow ?
