Though containing a part of the charm that the Harry Potter series did, it did not impress me as much. In the first Fantastic Beasts, the actors were unrealistically silly, in this one they are unrealistically serious. Is there an in between?
Grindlewald is supposed to be smart, isn't he? And what of the fake accent? Benedict Cumberbatch would play a much more interesting, just as Voldemort did in the Harry Potter series.
It seems that the special effects have gotten in the way of the actual story. As Walt Disney said, "The story always matters the most."
But the story in Fantastic Beasts 2 was interesting, but not enthralling.
Sorry for ranting. I liked it, but I thought it could be so much better.
