Absolute rubbish. The family pet senselessy murdered because it was a burden... Diddling by the schoolmaster...sexual exploitation of Cratchit's wife....the joy of Christmas morning hope overshadowed by some curse from the wife. Change the title at least. This has more to do with the sickness of many horrible evil people...way too preachy about making excuses for behavior. If they had even kept their added ridiculous themes in a more modern version then it would still be a disappointment to anyone looking for the classic, but adding the unecessary explitives, taking out the party....it's really just a dismal Christmas Carol apocrypha. Don't expect to feel lighthearted and forgiving after this version...the tune of this carol won't resonate. 1 star for the great start, amazing settings, and actors.
