I was really worried when I heard that Henry Cavil was cast as Geralt a few years ago. As a fan of the games and the books I thought this was a sad fame grab that would end badly. I could not have been more wrong! I absolutely loved the series, and Cavil’s accent and performance was incredible. I know people are complaining about the timeline but honestly it’s not that confusing and once you work it out it’s easy to decode. Anyway, it’s an amazing show and I’d recommend it to anyone I’ve met, fan or not!

Man, I hate movies like this. Maybe as I get older I realize how toxic and annoying these movies are. Ignoring the cliché ridden, terrible writing for a moment, and focusing on the plot. Now, I’m all for the ‘don’t complain about your life, change it’ mentality, but this movie’s only focus is the wedding party and puts absolutely no effort at all into the actual relationship. This woman has spent her entire career as a secretary even though she is qualified for more, just because she has a crush on her boss. She ruins her sisters wedding with said boss because they had a fight (granted the sister is a piece of work). She then ends up with the guy that slept with her and then printed her dirty laundry on the front page of the newspaper. But I guess it’s ok because he said he ‘didn’t mean it’. I completely understand the urge to watch a light hearted rom-com but there are many more out there that aren’t so pathetic. Maybe it’s a product of its time but I’m not sure this movie has any redeeming qualities.
