Netflix's Cleopatra is a disappointing and disrespectful depiction of the rich history of Egypt. Rather than honouring the complexity and significance of the real Cleopatra, this adaptation falls into the trap of distorting historical facts for the sake of entertainment. As a viewer who values historical accuracy, I found it profoundly frustrating and disheartening. It is crucial to prioritize accurate and respectful portrayals that shed light on the contributions of black leaders throughout history. Instead of wasting time on such a misrepresentation, I wish they had made documentaries that delve into the lives of remarkable black leaders, such as the Queen of Sheba.
