I am no football fan. I only recognised the Gareth Southgate character but got thoroughly drawn into the feeling of pride Southgate tried to instill into the England team. Great acting and totally absorbed into a game i don't follow but would recommend to all non football folk.

Yes, don't be late;. In fact get there before allotted time and enjoy the preamble before curtain up.
If you're not into slapstick, you may not enjoy. But it is so cleverly orchestrated by the players,
their antics are better than the plot!
Hilarious double act of the 2 Florences towards the end and throw away line from Trevor that the set was dangerous (understatement).
Laughing too much to hear the ending!

Jennifer Hudson needs a tissue to wipe the snot that trickles down into her mouth as she sings Memories. Very off-putting. Judi dench looked like the lion from Wizard of oz and I'm sorry to say she must get her teeth sorted. She is one of my favourite actresses and Ian McKellen was the best. Continuity was bad. And if you didn't know the story, like me, it was not clear and seemed a very weak plotline.
And what can I say about Idris Elba. He was good with great eyes but I didn't know where to look when he took his coat off! Even without his 'bits' he was outstandingly gorgeous. I was so mesmerized by the costumes or lack of, perhaps that's why I just didn't find the storyline clear enough. I must concentrate more. No, this was an expensive movie and should have been better.
