As someone who was a huge fan of the first game, I was extremely disappointed. We waited a really long time for this game to come out and we got something that would be good as a stand alone game but isn’t a good sequel for The Last of Us. My problem isn’t Joel dying within the first 2 hours of gameplay. I was more upset for how they completely changed Joel’s survivalist father figure mentality from the first game into a awkward old man who had trouble keeping a conversation with a girl he had known for years. I also disliked how they made Ellie so selfish to the point where she wasn’t likable. They also just force you to try to like Abby even though she literally kills arguably the most beloved video game characters of the last decade. Again this game would be amazing as a stand alone game but it isn’t a proper sequel for a game that was as big as the Last of Us.
