Just saw this on HBO Max. I loved the Dune series books. Unlike many I enjoyed the older Dune movie. I watched it again prior to this movie. This new version has great visuals and effects. However it is slow and plodding through the story. I nearly turned it off several times.At the end I felt I wasted 2 1/2 hours. The casting is mostly horrible, the first movie gave us much better characters. At times I was thinking,"Uh-what story is this?" I hope the next installment will be better since I love the Dune story. But, I will only see it on an app so i can fast forward if it's as bad as this one!
