The movie started out a little fuzzy but really got us hooked before the end of the first half. Pattinson’s performance was brilliant and so was Kravitz’s. (Glad they didn’t cash in on Pattinson’s pretty boy-ness; and grounded his character).
Dark, gothic and real, with a hint of burlesque; what with the two ‘villains’ laughing towards the end gave the movie an edge unlike no other. The way the villains were written makes you contemplate on the very concept of villainous-ness even.
The movie also retained the ‘cartoony’ (and not in a bad way) effect that is so essential to Batman and yet, interspersed the issues of mental health and privilege to a great degree. The accents were also done well. DC is going places with its movies, especially after Wonder Woman and Joker!
