Phaedra Kline

Having been a devoted fan of The Big Bang, I expected great things from Mayim Bialik & Jim Parsons, but I was very disappointed in Call Me Kat. I admit to having watched only one episode, but that was more than enough for me. I found it plodding & unfunny, & Kat's talking to the audience dumb & distracting. Even the premise of the storyline was bogus - that there are restrictions on bringing a guest to a wedding. (Maybe that's true of some weddings, but I have never encountered it.) And the whole episode was built around it! In addition, Swoosie Kurtz is horribly miscast as Kat's mother. Initially I was very excited to see this show, since I'm also a cat lover, but it's just not for me. PS: I realize this is a very late review & that maybe they somehow made it better as the weeks went by, but I found the first episode so objectionable that I haven't had the desire to give it another try.
