It’s not a rom-com or a family entertainer. It’s a different genre altogether and is a very deep love story, not meant for everyone. If you like Imtiaz Ali’s style of narration and appreciate his art, you’ll fall in love with his narration. It’s a step up from Tamasha, which was also not everyone’s cup of tea. Love Aaj kal explores two complicated people and their flawed personalities. It’s a very apt portrayal of the complexities the millennial generation relationships go through. The Indian audience is used to senseless bollywood entertainment where they don’t use their brains. This one, is, one hell of a roller coaster meant to be experienced. Like I said, it’s another masterpiece by Imtiaz Ali, not meant for everyone. Very very few people will appreciate it and the ones who do will love it to the core.
