What a phenomenal feat- a true, unencumbered by embellishing and cinematic license, account of a contemporary Indian household. No drama or preaching but so very sensitive while deftly hitting the nail on the head. The subtle, not so subtle and sometimes outright cruel comments to put the woman 'in her place' are really authentic. A film worth watching though the the slow pace may deter some- I felt the steady ennui exuding slow pace is itself a comment on how mundane and normal life appears to be while zealously maintaining the harsh status quo of patriarchy.
