Brilliantly written horror that is both magical and terrifying with fully fleshed characters with motives that stem from their pasts. The scene with the animated hedge animals and the one at the jungle gym still scare me-and I vehemently believed "no book is that scary".
A Must read classic. Avoid the movie.
