Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch this documentary.
An earthy, and at times quite moving tale of a hard-working and immensely talented trio who bucked the musical trends, once they hit the big time, and ploughed their own furrow.
I was quite moved by Neil Peart’s reluctance to interact with his adoring fan base - what an amazing drummer he was. Alex and Geddy come across as the long-standing pals they are, and you’ve got to admire the grit they showed to get to the top. I was lucky enough to see them on an early UK tour, a gig I will never forget (mainly as I had tonsillitis and a raging temperature, and was almost rendered unconscious by the first on-stage pyrotechnics I’d ever seen!)
This should be watched by any Rush fan but could easily be watched by anyone who enjoys a well-made and well-formed documentary.
