The movie showed a clear lack of understanding of Catholic culture and faith. From them "signing up" for the religious life and skipping the formation period to them speaking jovially about the Eucharist. Or them just picking up the relic or a random monstrance being in the background. Or the Sanctus randomly being sung outside of Mass or the bishop not being present at her vows. The plot of them creating Jesus through DNA was interesting but poorly told and his motives don't make sense within Catholic theology.
On the level of a movie, it relied heavily on jump scares, gore, and body horror. I thought the characters were poorly developed and lacked depth. It relied a lot also on tropes that I found predictable and repetitive. Many unanswered questions. Who were the ladies with red covering their face?
Seemed like they were confused on Catholic culture and whether they were writing a horror movie, an action movie, or a feminist anthem.
