Main issue with Squid Game was the “keep watching” momentum of the show shifted. From the beginning, you got captivated by the themes ,good acting, dialogue etc but they were basically put on passive mode further in, rather than explored or developed. The main characters for example - were well portrayed by the actors, the dialogue was good, they had interesting histories and behaviours, and the chemistry between them was captured well by the director/s. But while you watch the show move forward and kill people off, the main characters end up being used more as a distractive measure than adding value to the plot. It ultimately made you lose interest in what was happening. But just not knowing what happens, gets you to the end.
Also one thing that bugged me big time were the VIPs. Their costume design was amazing but when they spoke…every time it was like they were thinking out loud in a room of people. cringe worthy.
