As an avid reader with broad tastes I found this book interesting. I liked the plot and the exposition. Parentheses for me are not an issue if the story flows, which it does. My only complaint was the very end, the Epilogue, with a too clean and unexciting closure. Leave the reader to wonder what came after, what were the possibilities. That can make a story more memorable, more exciting.
