I have just finished reeding your book “ There is no planet B” and in the most part is an obviously well studied analysis of the total mess we have made of our planet past present and possibly future. You say we can fix things by somehow bringing all the powers that be to the table and agree to leave the remaining fossil fuels in the ground and stop eating meat, stop being greedy, stop flying, stop telling lies, stop using hydrocarbons the list goes on. A fine set of commandments indeed but more a naïve wish list with a hint of arrogance if there was ever one. There is not a hint in the history of mankind that suggests we are capable of such cooperation and you yourself have briefly mentioned a certain Mr Trump who quite frankly doesn't give a monkeys fart for the environment and he was leader of the free world! Sadly he is not a one off. Don't get me wrong what you say is right but you also have to be realistic and suggesting that human population is not equally part of the problem is in itself is a fake-news story. Human population is the cause of everything you have mentioned in your book and the very reason we are where we are. Less people means less pollution less deforestation less of everything that damages our fragile planet. You say that 15 billion good people is better than 1 billion bad. I would say 8 billion average people is far to many and some sort of population control is very much part of the Anthropocene solution.
