WARNING: THIS REVIEW IS FOR ALL OF THE PARENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING THIS SHOW!
I watched the original show and loved it, it was really sweet, wish I could say the same about this one. First off, to anyone who's seen the original show, this show does give respectful nods to the old show, but that's the only sweet thing about it, I was really looking forward to a very sweet, kid-friendly show like the old show, but just because this show has Punky Brewster's name on it, does not make it kid-friendly. Daniel, Punky's son, struggles with gender identity, and I don't think it's appropriate for children to be exposed to that, kids today are already confused enough as it is! Why does this show want to add even more to their plate!
When Punky asks about her ex's new girlfriend, he says:
"It's not really dating, it's more sex and emojis,"
Ummm, was this show even aimed at kids?! I was extremely excited for this show at first, but it was not what I expected at all. The show does have a talented cast, and has occasionally funny and sweet moments,
But it's a little too overwhelming for kids if you ask me.
