The World Bank states that "Uruguay stands out in Latin America for being an egalitarian society and for its high per capita income, low level of inequality and poverty and the almost complete absence of extreme poverty." Jose Mujica, was one of the captives depicted in this film and went on to become president of Uruguay. Called the "poorest president", it is my believe that through the pain of his 12 years a prisoner, he was able to gift an egalitarian society to his fellow countrymen. God works in mysterious ways!
