A near flawless film. At first it may seem there's nothing "special" about X, but by the time it's over, it has that "X" Factor, and is arguably one of the best slashers ever, certainly the best since the original Scream (1996).
It has heart, humour, sex, gore, and... live music?... All while remaining unflinchingly commited to the old school slasher formula. It is that rare film that feels like a contradictory but works all the same: It follows a tried and true formula in the most unique way possible.
