Loved the book, the story, the characters. I was sorry that it ended where it did. Yes, that was a pivotal moment but there is so much more that these two men did after January 1st, 1863.

If you like gratuitous metaphors, flowery verbage that constantly distracts from the action and, a plot filled with holes and inconsistencies then, you'll love this book. I finished it despite the fact that the ending was totally predictable and unrealistic. Sorry, not my cup of tea.
