Scandalous 1998

*SPOILER WARNING* I throughly enjoyed this movie. I liked Frank and his personality. I liked the Indiana Jones feel of Emily Blunts character. I loved the climax of learning that Frank was actually one of the conquistadors, because I never seen it coming and I like when a movie surprises me. The only critique is the villains of the story, some German Prince or something finding the pedals to help Germany win the war? Felt like he wasn’t much of a memorable villain ambition, and the character himself isn’t very memorable other than his heavy German accent. Another thing was that the curse really felt ripped off of Pirates Of The Caribbean, that they are cursed and cannot die or travel too far from the river. But overall, I loved the main characters(except the villains and their motivation) the CGI was really great, the ending had me a little puzzled, but overall a great experience for a movie, definitely recommend for family’s, 8.5/10

It definitely got the Midwest culture and theme spot on. Living in the Midwest, I definitely had some laughs because the theme and small talk was right on point. The plot of the movie is original, taking aspects from two different real life crime stories and mixing them into one, it just works. The accents worked so well with this movie. Steve Buscemi also a favorite of mine, and he played his character really well in this film. If you have some free time, I’d definitely suggest watching this movie!

Very good movie with the main story plot of getting a recently deceased veteran’s dog he had during the war, to his funeral. During the film we see Tatum’s character and LuLu(the dog), form a relationship. While the film starts with the two disliking each other, towards the middle of the film, we see that they have formed a bond. The subtle message I feel that the directors and producers placed about the importance of veterans with mental illness is a very important message to include into the film. 5/5 stars, I’d recommend it to everyone, it’s not a long film either, but it gets it’s story out in that amount of time. Definitely watch if your a dog lover, if your military, and definitely watch if your a police/military dog handler. *spoiler!* You will tear up at the end of the movie!

The movie was really good, I loved Tom Holland playing as Nate, we’ve had a lot of Indiana Jones adventure type movies released in recent years, and this one is probably my favorite. I didn’t compare the movie to Indiana Jones, I compared it to National Treasure, mainly because it felt more like that film than IJ. I’ve never played the Uncharted games, but I know the premise of the games, and I felt they did a really good job making the movie into its own thing and not trying to turn the games into a film. The story of finding Magellan’s gold was a very interesting story I thought, and it made me think back to actual historical events. The movie is not 100% historically accurate, but it never claimed to be and I am happy with that. The only really minor, really minor things that bugged me were the breaks in realism, but it’s a movie so it didn’t really bug me that much, but I still noticed them. I didn’t really feel a connection between Nate(Tom Holland) and Sully’s(Mark Wahlberg) characters, it just felt like they had no relationship, I know in the game they’re supposed to be close. Chloe in my opinion, did not really add anything to the film, see helped Nate out in the middle of the movie, then betrays him, and then she’s irrelevant for the rest of the film. Another nit pick, where’s Nates wife? I know in Uncharted Nate has a wife, but she’s no where to be seen in the film. Overall really good movie, look forward to seeing a sequel.
