Just watch any of the live action halo trailers that were made in promotion for the games. You'll understand why people are upset. The show deviates heavily from an already incredible story. Instead of inventing an entirely new story within the existing universe. They did what no existing halo fan wanted and rewrote everything. They missed out on so many opportunities to explore areas of halo we don't get to see. By rewriting the main story in a way nobody wanted. Why didn't we follow new Spartans we've never encountered that aren't replacements for existing loved characters? Why are Marines using civil war level battle strategy. Why don't we get to see ODSTs and their perspectives. Why IS THERE A HUMAN IN THE COVENANT!
It's genuinely upsetting, to see something you know so well, so warped and unrecognizable. Certain fight scenes have been done well. The actors aren't remotely bad. The casting of silver team would have actually worked well for the characters they replaced from blue team. There was no reason why they couldn't show the Spartans emotional side behind closed doors like they do already. They didn't need pellets. The Spartans aren't 2D. Emile in halo reach has a completely different personality to that of Jorge. The headhunters animation shows two Spartans with a great sense of humor.
Anyway rant over. Filmed well, occasionally enjoy the fight scenes, actors are fine. The plot is just off. Were missing the grandeur and were missing the mature and gritty depiction. Instead were watching episodes full of political filler in a TV show based on a franchise all about a constant battle. Real shame.
Hope they turn it around as much as they can cause it's not all bad
