This series is a travesty!! The book was no less than brilliant, and as usual, Hollywood has seen fit to change the story and not for the better. To completely modify a story about women’s rights (or lack thereof in the 1950s and 1960s) into another commentary on black rights is indefensible. Do yourself a favor: read the book. It is a beautifully crafted story, with amazing characters, timeless storytelling, and lessons for every reader. But skip the terrible series.
