If you have been playing since Gen 1, you likely going to be disappointed with this game. The game got potential but it feels ruined. Some good parts of them, but still outclassed by more factors of bad things about the game. There is almost no challenge at all, in this game. Super easy, map feels so empty. Towns, are forgettable places across the map. Bland looking open world. Town houses just blocks in the map, and most houses cannot be entered. No points to talk to NPCs. Once you unlock you bike, the game wont let you just explore everywhere just yet. Pokemon and trainers level doesnt scale to your progress.
