I finally got myself to watch The Conners this March of 2024 as my curiosity and love for the true ROSEANNE show, which she created, made me finally look into it (despite my protest about how she got cancelled), and see for myself. It was a hard watch. Ups and downs galore. I liked the diversity and realism, I missed the characters bc I grew up with them….but it was a bit too heavy in pretty much all areas possible and REAL fast. They lost me completely in season 2. The politics are so intense throughout this show, too heavy in my opinion for a sitcom. My kids and I love the original sitcom Roseanne… we have all the seasons on dvd and watch them together, and will continue to do so. We are a super diverse bunch and don’t like one sided agendas or bullying. There’s a reason why this show rates kinda low. Maybe I’ll watch more at some point in time in hopes that it finds some middle ground for us common folk….right now it’s just aggravating on so many levels.
