I first watched this movie as a kid when I wasn’t an NRI, and didn’t quite grasp its entire message. Now, a decade later and as an NRI, watching this movie has moved me in so many ways. Besides highlighting the sufferings of the lowest levels of society in india (of which I was aware), it does such a great job of making one long for home when permanently away. It has confirmed my belief that there is no place closer to your heart than your home country, despite the many problems plaguing it.
