I am a big fan of your programmes and enjoy watching them, but I was very troubled when you were walking the Dorset coastline with hiker Chris Lewis and his partner Kate.
I don't know what research you did regarding wild camping in this area of natural beauty and the problem that the National Trust has with wild camping and people lighting fires. Chris proclaimed to ask permission to use this land to camp wherever he fancied, but I would be very surprised if the National Trust would agree to this as they go to great effort to deter people.
The fires and bbq's that people light have caused no end of damage to this area, including wild life and birds, and large area's have been burnt with fire services spending days trying to put them out. There are many signs warning people that camping and fires are not allowed.
I do think that it was very irresponsible of you to put this programme on national television showing yourself and hikers doing just that. I have no doubt that many people will be planning to follow your example and the litter and mess that they leave behind is beyond disgusting and also a real danger to the wildlife.
Although I admire what this couple are doing and I am sure they treat the area with respect, a lot of other campers do not and cause untold damage. I do think you need to put more research and common sense into airing a programme like this. You only need to look at the news reports from last year to see the fires and damage that was caused by so called wild campers.
