I love rowing. I watched this movie for the rowing story - which is great. But that's not where the power of the movie is. Its great power is in the truth of what these gentlemen survived, in their love of a novel sport and its discipline and goals, and in their determination to support each other, and their families, in getting out of a cycle of emotional and gang violence.
