A good, not great film. It has the true story part going for it which makes it interesting albeit very slow, although I’m sure it was intended to be it’s just not my cup of tea.
There are bright spots however! And leading the way is Jodie Comer, if you watch this for no other reason, do it just to hear her Chicago accent! It was remarkable and I honestly googled it because I thought for sure it was her lips moving but someone else’s voice! Nope, it was her and she has developed into a Hollywood powerhouse that seems to only takes roles that she knows she’ll be great at.
In the end I fear there wasn’t enough of a story to start with. This was no big splash as we’ve come to expect. I was expecting Benny to take over but he didn’t want it. The big event was Johnny being killed and the kid taking over but that was 8 seconds and it was over.
I guess I just expected more.
