Dies Irae - The day of wrath Rating - 3.75/5 A gripping psycho horror thriller exploring the unsettled deeds in the bridge of life, death and salvation. The plot of the story puts you through the life of an affluent guy who struggles with the disturbance of an invisible energy which drags him into a loop from where will he really finds peace gets unfolded through the story. Rahul Sadasivan has proved with his latest craftsmanship that he is the master of horror genre among the new age Cinematic audience through his flawless writing and hooking narrative. The movie initially crawls a bit taking time to boil and settle the story, gradually progressing with suspense and edge of the seat experience keeping you on toes till the last shot. The story builds through a handful of characters who carries the movie with their nuanced performances which Rahul has extracted through clear improvisations. Poignant performance from Pranav who just excelled in his delivery through subtle and composed reactions and carries the emotions very maturely, polishes his performance after each character. 🔥👌🏻 Jibin Gopinath just delivered an outstanding performance in the movie strongly supporting Pranav. 👌🏻Arun Ajikumar has just excelled in his role through the vibe he carries and the emotional variations giving an assurance to the crowd that there is more to come from this chap. 👏🏻 Brilliant performance from Jaya Kurup who just outshined in her character delivery. 🔥👍🏻 Rahul has executed the movie through the support of his comfort Bramayugam crew who has given their heart and soul for the movie. Incredible visuals by Shehnad Jalal capturing the indoor, outdoor lights, reflections and ambience in the right tempo carefully stitched into a hell of an experience ride by Shafique Mohammed Ali. 🔥🔥 Kudos to Christo Xavier for the chilling and sharp background scores that elevated the movie experience especially in tuning the climax sequence was absolutely literally. 🔥 Good sound design/ mixing by JD & Rajakrishnan and hats off to Liju Prabhakar for the immersive colour grading.👌🏻 A must watch experience in a 4K Laser Dolby Atmos or Large Epiq screens for an engaging visual treat experience.

The Pet Detective Rating - 3.5/5 A fun adventurous ride cooked on a comical and colourful template with eventful instances. The story takes us through the life of a Pet Detective who cross paths with criminal syndicates over his quest for winning his lady love and the extraordinary events in the backdrop forms the crux of the story. Praneesh & Jai Vishnu has cooked a flavourful cinematic meal with slapstick elements, cat & mouse play to keep the viewers entertained on screen. They have brought out a mediocre story but the presentation was really impressive like visualising a colourful detective novel in mind. The first half pulls out many characters to the story which joins it's dot together in the final half. The climax sequences were absolutely a fun laughter ride. Impressive performance by SharafUdheen handling action & humour so effortlessly. 👌🏻 Anupama has given a decent performance but their combo and dialogues felt bit cringy in few sequences. Good performances by Joemon, Vijayaraghavan,Renji Panicker, Praseetha, Nishanth Sagar, Vinayakan & Shobi Thilakan who just synced with the vibe of the story. Good sense of music by Rajesh Murugesan matching the mood and template designed for the movie precisely captured by Anend and perfectly trimmed by Abhinav keeping the pace of the story intact. Great contributions from Production Designer Dino Shankar, Sound design by Vishnu Govind, Costumes by Gayathri Kishore and colour grading by Srik Varier. 👍🏻 A perfect fun to watch entertainer to be experienced on theatres with tiny tots.

Nellikkampoyil Night Riders Rating - 3.5/5 A fun immersed horror comedy thriller with an impressive making and an engaging narrative. The story moves through the life of a guy in a superstitiously immersed village on how he faces the mysterious creature disturbing their peaceful night to prove his courage for his lover. Noufal Abdullah has pulled off a technically rich horror comedy entertainer with a strong screenplay by Jothish & Sunu which Noufal has executed by blending apt ingredients required to engage the audience. Special mention to the writers in perfectly establishing the myth, superstitions existing in the village through the quirky dimensions designed for the characters with their humourous dialogues, mannerisms and eventful incidents. The filmmakers has triumphed in turning a simple horror story that is familiar to the audience through grandmother tales in childhood to a pleasing entertainer by effortlessly mixing humour, emotions, romance and action in the story supported with the stunning presentation. Hats off to the crew for the impressive casting who has enriched the film with their exceptional performances. Mathew has given a matured performance in the movie easily variating over the character layers. 👍🏻 Sarath Sabha & Roshan witheir performances added more flavour and thrill to the movie joining with Mathew. Abu Salim, Rony David, Naseer Sankranthi, Meenakshi, Merin Mary Philip & Jaffer Sadiq made promising performances. 👏🏻 Kudos to the cinematographer Abhilash Sankar in conveying the eerie atmosphere and suspense element, good background scores by Yakzan - Neha and stirring sound design by Vicky - Rajakrishnan and good VFX works altogether chopped into a decent entertainer package by Noufal himself. 👏🏻 A middling story elevated with robust performances and technicalities adding to a good story selection by Mathew to his filmography.

Dude Rating - 3.25/5 A romcom entertainer with an underwhelming story and cliche dialogues. The story revolves through the life of a carefree guy who becomes a clown for his ex lover for her happiness and well being. Keerthiswaran has pepped up the story with entertaining elements and distinct perspectives of romance but the cliche dialogues, weak storyline and humour couldn't lift the movie. The film turned out to be a usual PR flavoured storyline. Energetic performance from Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha has done her character convincingly.Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon & Rohini made notable performances in the movie. Sai Abhyankar's songs and quirky Background scores were to be specially mentioned. In overall, Dude is just a one time watchable flick with a feeble story.

Bison Kaalamaadan Rating - 3.75/5 A raw, riveting tale of a man's perseverance and determination portrayed through a robust & realistic narrative. The story shows how a low key village guy overcome the emotional, mental and physical struggles to pursue his dream of excelling in Kabadi against his father's fear of him turning rogue, the societal, caste and political odds that came his way. Mari Selvaraj has scripted the story in a realistic narrative template giving stress to the emotional layers of the characters through their performances. He like in his previous films have blended casteism, rivalry, revenge, bloodshed, communal riots, village politics, folklore elements, myth, superstitions, brotherhood & romance into the story in a rooted screenplay. The story puts you through characters with orthodox thoughts and their hesitation to accept people with progressive thoughts as part of their conditioning is clearly portrayed through the story. Stellar performance by Dhruv who just carried the character with distinct shades with utmost care and precision. 🔥 Outstanding performances by Rajisha, Pashupathi & Lal in the movie. 👌🏻👌🏻 Anupama, Ameer Sulthan & Azhagam Perumal also gave notable performances of their characters. 👏🏻 Sensational cinematography by Ezhil Arasu who just captured the soul of the village through perfect lensing and lighting. 👌🏻Good background scores and folklore songs by Nivas Prasanna. 👍🏻Kudos to art team, sound department, action choreography and colorist for their contributions in elevating the movie experience. 👍🏻 An emotionally intriguing story highlighting the social stigmas.

Rating - 4.25/5 A small gem of a movie celebrating a homemaker's struggles, insecurities and liberation. The story revolves through the life of a homemaker and the struggles she has to come across with her family and neighborhood over a mattress. Hats off to Fasil Muhammed and Thamar for bringing a soul moving and hard hitting story to the screens with beautiful relatable moments.🙌🏻 The story deeply narrates the struggles, unhealed wounds, sacrifice and vulnerability of women in orthodox Musim family who are hidden behind the veils and kitchen doors through an exhilarating narrative blended through subtle humour, religious superstitions, drama and relationship dynamics within family and society. The dialogues articulated for the story is poured in exact measure and tempo by the artists giving you sudden shocks under your lungs with the laughter riot. 👌🏻👌🏻The brilliance of the director is blatantly evident throughout the movie by the way he has layered the entire screenplay, presentation of sensitive topics of the status quo and the character designs. 👌🏻 The satisfaction that you get while watching the climax sequences is just pure bliss showing the rise of an oppressed to a phoenix bird. 🙌🏻✨ Big hugs to Thamar & DQ for bringing this sensational story to the big screens. ❤️ First class performance by Shamla who just lived the character so perfectly that her act will haunt you seriously for a long time.🔥🔥🔥 Kumar Sunil has given an outstanding performance as the religious scholar through his incredible gestures and dialogue modulations.👌🏻👌🏻🙌🏻 Notable performances by the artists who played the neighbour characters especially Viji Viswanath, Raji, Babitha & Praseetha.👌🏻👏🏻 Kudos to the technical teams behind the screens for their efforts in creating this movie especially the DOP Prince who just moved with the characters and the sharp and thoughtful cuts by the one and only hooking the audience to the screen. 🔥🔥 Soul lifting Background scores by Siyad Kabir elevating the emotions with unwavering sounds by Sachin Jose/Vinay John. ❤️👌🏻 Special mention to art department, the costumers and make-up team for their effortless contributions. Kantara Rating - 4.25/5 A divine mythological tale bestowed with a big leap to its premier film through exceptional narrative. The plot of the story explores the culture, myth and belief of the people in the sacred land Kantara, where they believe their deity rests, exposing its powerful aura when the peace and harmony of the divine garden is disrupted by besiegers to take control over the blessed land with adverse intentions. Rishab Shetty has precisely blended the culture, tradition, myth & superstitions of Tulunadu in an unprecedented narrative and technicalities. The way the story has been layered to utter perfection shows how much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears he has given for this movie. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 This film stands far superior to the first part considering the storyline. 👌🏻👌🏻 It was really fascinating to see how he mixed the entire first half of the story with subtle humour and dialogues neither deviating from the core plot along with romance, action, torture, sentiments, greed and royal treachery. A few sequences before the climax felt slightly off the mood but the pre - interval portion where the screenplay changes its dynamics and pre - climax sequences were pure goosebumps. 🔥🔥 Standing ovations to Rishab Shetty & Hombale Films for designing an epic story with world class production quality leaving no stones unturned. ❤️🔥👌🏻 Hats off to the filmmakers for assembling the brilliant actors on screen who have performed their characters and distinct shades exceptionally well. Rishab Shetty has just outperformed his character delivering humour, emotions & action sequences so convincingly. 🔥🔥 Intense performances by Jayaram & Rukmini Vasanth who carried their character throughout the movie. 👌🏻Gulshan Devaiah has just delivered an unparalleled performance as a slipshod ruler. 👌🏻👏🏻 An eternal ovations to the technical crew behind the screen for their fascinating contributions. 👏🏻👌🏻🙌🏻🔥 Arvind Kashyap has just delivered a visual masterpiece on screen with each frames adding immense value to the story.👌🏻🔥🙌🏻 Kudos to the editor Suresh who polished the story into an enthralling and engaging film close to 3 hours with Ajaneesh Loknath's immersive and divine music and background scores supported with Rajakrishnan's and Arun's sound design. 🔥🔥 The credits would be incomplete if the Production Designer Benglann, Action Choreographer Todor Lazarov, Costumer Pragathi Rishab Shetty, colourist Raju Reddy and VFX/CG team is left unmentioned whose efforts just popped and glittered on the screen throughout the movie. 🌟👌🏻🔥👏🏻 A must watch movie on the big screens and make it a point to watch it on Dolby Atmos/Epiq/ICE/IMAX screens promising a world class cinematic experience that will surely make it to Oscars/ Academy awards for its content oriented presentation.

Karam Rating - 3.25/5 An action crime survival thriller with an extended story thread of Thira. The plot of the story is about an ex army man with traumatic childhood and unhealed memories is drawn into a series of untoward events during his hybrid trip with family to Lenarco pulling him back to his unhealed and unsettled past. Vineeth has fairly executed the subnormal storyline penned by Noble Babu Thomas through grooving Background scores and action sequences. The storyline gets pretty much predictable by the early first half and you realise that the story is centred around the hero with a dynamic emotional quotient. Vineeth has layered and paced the mediocre story to keep it hooking by blending minimal humour and chase sequences. Good performance by Noble of the character carrying burning emotions and pulling off action sequences convincingly. Reshma has given a matured performance of her character. Good performances from Baburaj, Shajon, Manoj K Jayan, Vishnu G Varrier & Audrey Miriam. Ivan has given a decent performance as an antagonist. Good framing and lighting by the ace cinematographer Jomon by setting the mood of a thriller precisely finetuned by Ranjan Abraham close to 2 hours which was a good decision. 👍🏻 Kudos to Shaan Rahman & the sound department Sachin, Hariharan & Vipin for their unparalleled contribution in elevating this story and special mention to Srikanth Varier for the colour grading.🔥 The movie has escaped a near squeak just with its pacing and narrative approach.
