Frances C. Douglas

Loved it. So much of Alabama between these covers. It is an area of middle Alabama, not my area, but it explains much about the Native American situation and the lead up to the trail of tears. Main character is a very strong woman. Could not put it down.

This book is well worth a read. In the end, I just question WHY. Why kill him? How would our lives be different if he and Bobby had lived? His murder did not change Cuba, the book seems to lay motive on Cuba but in the end it is the CIA, and only some in the CIA who wanted him dead, and accomplished their goal. The book is well researched, and believable. Ties so many unanswered questions to the reality of the times.
