I was scrolling through Netflix on a nasty rainy day off and stopped on The Giver simply because of "The Dude". I figured it would be something to sit and stare at to kill some time. Well, I ended up finding one of, if not the best, drama movies I've ever seen. The plot seems silly but it isn't as farfetched as you think. The message it sends grabbed at my heart and gave it a good squeeze. I ugly cried at the realization that we do, in fact, live in an ugly, hate filled world. We also live in a world full of love and compassion albeit very difficult to find these days, it's there. We sometimes forget how many emotions we're both lucky, and unlucky to experience. This movie made me realize how much we need to change if we are to survive as a species. I highly recommend it. I don't understand the low rating at all. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed!!
